  • Didn't oliver make something kind of like it. At least that style of cab. I've seen the MM in person and it's pretty neat.

  • Go to the Vintage Ads portion of this website and look at MM 1944 Jeep Ad. I think it will help explain this vehicle.

  • I have never seen one of these parked at the Pub. It must be a fake.

  • Those are in some of my tractor books. MM wanted a tractor you could use to haul your crops to town. it would be a car/tractor all in one. But they were way over priced so it never worked out.

  • Just too far ahead of its time... but still one of the THE BEST looking old tractors ever made. In my mind, the Minnie-Mo UDLX is #1, the JD AOS is #2. Last UDLX that I heard about at a sale brought over 100k

  • I'd bet they were a little pricey but I a poster I read at a thresheree stated they didn't sell well basically because farmers feared their neighbors would think they were pu ies for having a cab.

  • There is a Trantor for sale on the Irish auto trader its a car tractor has room for seven passengers goes 55 mph and has 80hp can you yankies beat that
Mike wrote on Friday, March 28, 2008 (PDT):
  • Us Yankees can beat you guys at anything. I think this pic of an ugly car body plopped on a tractor frame is proof of that. Quit bragging and show us a pic of this 80hp vehicle, we answered your bluff with our pic, wheres yours?

  • Back in the early 80's I worked with Bob Manion who was a MM block man when these were new. He had to drive one from Madison Wi to all of his dealers untill a car pulled out in front of him near Fond du lac ,he slammed on the self energising brakes and one sucked itself to the floor. He ended up upside down in the ditch only damage was the spot light and radio antena broke off.He said he couldn't fall out of the seat with his suitcase and briefcase in the cab with him.I think he said the Udlx cost about 900 more than a U and when you got into 5th gear an extra lever allowed you to disconnect the counter shaft in the transmission and the engine governor and it could do 45 mph

  • We had a neighbor in ND that had one of those in the late '30's and early '40's. He said that he only needed 2-3 hours of sleep, so he bought sheep and herded them on abondoned farmland during the day through the dry depression days in ND. He'd doze during the day while herding the sheep. Then when the sheep bedded down for the night, he'd get in his UDLX and plow all night. It was the only tractor around that had lights in those days.
